- Since the delegation from
New York will only be here for two and a half days we will interview in
Vienna on May 3rd, 4th and partly May 5th.
- They will interview you,
ask you about your application and experience. They will more or less tell you
right away, if you are accepted to be capable of teaching in NYC or
not.
- If you are rejected, you
may try again next year. Maybe your English has improved until then or you have
gained more self confidence.
- If you are accepted, work
begins there and then: we will start doing all the paperwork right away (for
the Board of Education, for the City College, for the AAECA).
- You are supposed to attend
a workshop in Vienna, which will start June 15th or 22nd at 3
p.m. We will be finished in the early afternoon on Sunday, 17th or
24th. You will get the invitation and the outline for the workshop right after
the interview. We'll start at 9 in the morning and finish with a "get together"
at night.
- You should be prepared to
stay in Vienna for 2 nights. It is always easier to cancel a bed (room) than
find one in the last minute.
- If you want us to get
your visa, please bring your passport to the workshop, 2 pictures and
the paying receipt. Be prepared, that it will take a couple of weeks until we
send your passport back (registered mail).
- Don't forget the
passport, visa form and paying receipt for your partner and/or child , if they
are accompanying you to NYC
- We will arrange a
flight to NYC with AUA on August 3rd. The group should travel there
together. Usually AUA grants us very good conditions with the weight of your
baggage, the return flight may be within one year.
- I will prepare for you the
e-mail address list of all the teachers having been in NYC or still being
there.
